Yaletown - Downtown Vancouver

Hip and happening, trendy and fashionable, this neighbourhood attracts the young singles and many young urban families.  Only 10 years old, this area has transitioned from a train yard, to the Expo '86 Exhibit to one of the most dense condo developments on the continent.

Roughly defined as the region east of Seymour St and south of Smithe St, it centers around a converted warehouse strip housing high end commercial on the ground level and snazzy loft spaces above.  Yaletown is on the north side of False Creek with the seawall running along the side of it.

In a short time, this area acquired a junior school, daycare, a community centre, a fancy grocery market, a new marina and dozens of new restaurants, stores and professional services.  Property purchases in Yaletown run about $550-1500 per square foot.  This area tends to offer the greatest number of compact spaces, 400-550 square feet in size making the whole area feel very similar to Manhattan.
